Stay the Course in 2021

God has brought us through 2020, and I pray your heart is still abounding in the hope that we have in

Jesus. Nothing magically happens at the dawn of a new year, but God wants to continue doing a work in

us as parents and He will continue to direct us in how we nurture and care for our families.

God has given us times and seasons so that we can be aware that time is quickly passing. How did you

do with the time you were given last year? Do you see areas for improvement? Don’t feel guilty, just

begin to pick up where you have left off. Renew lifestyle disciplines that will promote benefits for you

and your family in the long run.

Discipline is defined as an “activity or experience that provides mental or physical training.”

Set your main goals for you, your marriage, and family.

We make our plans and submit them to God, and the LORD determines our steps. – Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

Our plans are just an outline and our written surrender to utilize the time God has given us wisely. My

family had a family meeting and we wrote out some of our goals. I would encourage you and your

families to do the same. As families, who are living to honor Christ, remember that the ultimate goal of

our plans is to honor God’s desires for us and to share His love and hope with others.

“ But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

– Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

In these uncertain times, we have to daily chose to have our heart set on God’s unchanging hand and

that will allow us to focus on the work that He has destined for each of us to do. God will continue to

work supernaturally in our homes as we stay focused and disciplined in doing what He desires. This life

we have is not our own, we belong to Christ and He alone has the power to equip us with the discipline

needed to stay the chartered course He has destined for us in this new year.

“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the

day of Christ Jesus"

-Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

We can be confident that God has great plans in store for us and we must reassure our children of this

promise despite anything we see going on around us. Our hope at home is built on our great and mighty God. Lift up your plans of the Lord this year as a family and watch God continue to prosper, bless and direct you and your family!
